Silver Skate 2009 Award Ceremonies are in Niirala
Awards for placing I-III and most memorable performances, as well as diplomas and memorial plates to all participants (team leaders, please see that somebody from your club is present !) will be delivered off-ice, in Cafeteria in Niirala Ice Hall according to the following timetable:
Palkinnot I-III sijoittuneille, unohtumattomista esityksistä ja luonnollisesti diplomit ja muistolaatat kaikille osallistuneille (joukkueenjohtajat, olkaa hyvät ja huolehtikaa, että joku seurastanne noutaa kotiin lähteneiden palkinnot !) jaetaan Niiralan jäähallin kahviossa seuraavan aikataulun mukaan:
Friday 3.4. at 7 pm: Cubs 2000, Cubs 1999, Cubs Boys, Springs A 1998, Springs A 1996/1997, Springs A Boys
Saturday 4.4. at 12 am: Cubs 1997/1998, Springs B 1998, Springs B 1996/1997

Please, be flexible during the practices. The ice may be crowded, and these open practice times are provided mostly for getting the "feel" of the ice and the rink.

Changes (hopefully minor adjustments) still possible! Gala time has two options: Saturday at 17.00 or Sunday at 17.00 depending of ice hockey semifinals.
Please be advised, due to the large number of skaters we will follow a flexible timetable throughout the competition.

Please be adviced that due the nice features of ISUCalc software categories are not in alphabetical order. So please read carefully until end of file :)
Should any typos, skater in wrong category or missing name please email immediately and describe the type of error and we will verify against entries sent by clubs. Any other modifications we cannot accept at the moment.

Dear skaters and friends,
It is our great pleasure to inform you that we are able to accept all 450 entries to Silver Skate 2009. Welcome to Kuopio !
After the last two frantic days with the entries and time tables, it seems that the preliminary timetable holds quite well. There is, however, one complicating factor. Our National League icehockey team, KalPa, seems to make it to the semifinals and it is likely that they have their home game during Silver Skate -either on Friday 3.4. or, most likely on Saturday 4.4. At the moment nobody can predict the date with certainty.
For us in Silver Skate, there are two alternatives:
- if the game is on Saturday, Cubs 97/98 will skate on Saturday. All the other categories will stay as in the preliminary timetable.
-in the unlikely situation that the game is on Friday, Springs categories should prepare to skate on Saturday.
We will forward the timetable information AS SOON AS THE HOCKEY PLAY-OFF TIMETABLES ARE READY, WHICH MEANS THE LATEST WEDNESDAY 25.3. Until that, we live and plan according to the preliminary timetable.
We have truly large categories of about 50 skaters each in cubs, springs, and delightfully in Novice C. All categories have both the amount and quality of skaters promising a very interesting and good quality competition. Let's have fun on 3.-5.4 !

Hyvät luistelijat ja luistelun ystävät !
Saimme n. 450 ilmoiittautumista Silve Skate 2009ään. On ilo kertoa, että voimme ottaa vastaan kaikki kilpailijat. Tervetuloa Kuopioon !
Kahden kahvia tihkuvan päivän ja illan jälkeen näyttää siltä, että saamme alustavan aikataulun pitämään varsin hyvin. Asiaa mutkistaa jääkiekkojoukkueemme KalPan mahdollinen ja todennäköinen (anteeksi, HPKn kannattajat) selviäminen liigan välieriin. Tällöin välierien kotipeli voi sijoittua joko perjantaille 3.4. tai todennäköisimmin lauantaille 4.4. Kukaan ei voi ennustaa tällä hetkellä tarkkaa tilannetta.
Meille Silver Skatelaisille tästä seuraa kaksi vaihtoehtoa:
- jos kotipeli on lauantaina, Cubs 97/98 siirtyy lauantaipäivälle. Muutoin alustava päiväkohtainen aikataulu pystytään pitämään ennallaan.
- jos kotipeli on epätodennäköisimpänä aikana eli perjantaina, Springs -kategorioitten tulee valmistautua myös mahdollisuuteen, että luistelu on lauantaina.
Informoimme aikataulusta HETI KUN JÄÄKIEKKOLIIGAN VÄLIERÄPARIT SELVIÄVÄT, SIIS VIIMEISTÄÄN KESKIVIIKKONA 25.3. Siihen saakka elämme ja teemme järjestelyjä alustavan aikataulun mukaisesti.
Kisassa on useita suuria ja mielenkiintoisia, n. 50 luistelijan kategorioita mm. cubseissa ja springseissä sekä kaikkia ilahduttavasti, Novice C sarjassa l. Taitajissa. Alustava ilmoittautuneiden listojen selaaminen lupaa mielenkiintoista ja hyvätasoista kisaa kaikkiin kategorioihin...tervetuloa, ja pidetään hauskaa 3. - 5.4 !

Silver Skate 2009 First Invitation (updated Feb 18)
The entry fee of foreign competitors can be paid in cash (euros) to the competition office during the competitions. We do not accept credit card, sorry.
Finnish clubs: The entry fee should be paid no later than 16.3.2009 on the account of the Kuopion Taitoluistelijat ry.(KuTa), please check the invitation to get bank information.
